INSTRUCTIONS \ TTSH \ 4027-1 sub modules

Please note that you will have to build 3 of these. So once you’re done, do it two times more!

Parts list 1 x 4027-1

Resistors
– 220 x 1
– 1k x 3
– 1k37 x 1
– 1k5 x 1
– 1k65 x 1
– 1k87 x 1 (Tempco)
– 3k9 x 1
– 8k87 x 1
– 12k x 2
– 15k x 1
– 30k1 x 1
– 33k2 x 1
– 45k3 x 1
– 47k x 1
– 61k9 x 2
– 68k x 1
– 100k x 1
– 121k x 1
– 475k x 1
– 3M3 x 1

Capacitors
– 5p x 1
– 680p x 1
– 10n x 2
– 100n x 2 (SMD) (10n is fine. It’s just decoupling)
– 10µ x 2 (Electrolytic)

Integrated circuits & semiconductors
– 2n3904 x 1
– 2n3906 x 1
– 2n4125 x 1
– 2n5459 x 2
– CA3046 x 1

If you’re socketing the CA3046 you can start with the socket, make sure it’s flat against the PCB. Next solder all resistors, except the tempco. Followed by the capacitors, where you can start with the surface mount capacitors. Finish with the transistors and IC, and finally solder the tempco in close contact to the 2 transistors.

You can wait with the pin headers until we’re mounting the sub board to the main board.

Once done, tear the 3 board apart.

A finished sub module should look like this.

Notes –
Q5 (2n4125) sets the amplitude of the sawtooth, so try different transistors until all 3 boards have the same output level. (Thanks Luca)
